Data recovery methods
• Engineer software or logical data recovery
This is the cheapest recovery method as it requires no special equipment or engineer working conditions. If your data is scrambled in some way, deleted or corrupted but the actual media it lives on is still working, you can take advantage of this low cost method.
Logical recovery requires that our workshop attach the device(s) or disk(s) to a recovery server and then use various low level system methods to retrieve data. We manually scan the "raw" information on the disk or device and recognise file types such as Word, Excel files, pictures & music. These are then retrieved from the mess that used to be your filing system and secured onto our recovery server.

• Class 100 clean room data recovery
A clean room is an environmentally controlled area, free from dust and other contaminants where physically damaged, sensitive equipment must be disassembled and forensically repaired.
With a high success rate, our clean room recovery team will retrieve data from equipment that has either completely failed and does not power on at all, has been water or fire damaged or has a mechanical / electrical fault.
Typically with hard disk drives for example a clicking noise or other unpleasant sound is heard. With USB devices they may not power on at all, or may power on but not be recognised by your computer.
This method of recovery is more expensive due to the equipment involved, time involved and the expertise required.
The faults are located and electronically or mechanically repaired. Often we then have a short time and one chance at pulling the data off the disk. Disks that have been to other recovery labs are often not retrievable.
95% success rate and unrivalled persistence
We use every conceivable method of technology available to retrieve your data. We do not have a time out policy if your data requires more effort to retrieve.
No data recovery - no bill
We charge you only the costs of collecting and returning (if you desire) your equipment in the unlikely event we cannot retrieve your data.
Addison Lee
We know how urgent and important your data is to you. We use Addison Lee, London's most trusted and reliable door to door courier to move your data safely and securely - directly from you to us, right now. Average journey time 30 minutes.
Shockingly many of our competitors use less trusted methods with your data including the standard postal service!
How long does it take?
Our standard service aims to return your data in two to five days from the collection depending on the extent of the damage or loss and how difficult it is for us to source any parts needed.
24 hour
service*
* 24 hour service definition - "for mission critical loss we will collect the same day you book and the work on your recovery will go around the clock until the data is retrieved. Engineers work shifts 24/7 until your data is secured".
My Files NOW!©
Using cutting edge Q-Labs technology we were the first in 2002 to offer your data online the second it is secured onto our recovery servers.
Ideal for small amounts of urgent data, your files can be made available for you to download via a secure online login to our web site the second we have them and we do not charge a premium for this first class service.
SMS alerts
Another Q-Labs first. As soon as we have a list of recoverable data we will text you, to let you know that we have emailed you a list of everything retrieved. |
