Qual-IT London Limited t/a Qual-IT Terms & Conditions of Service (Laptop computers)
All customers agree to be bound by terms and conditions of service set below
Our procedures.
If your machine requires repair you will need to send it to us for an estimate. Although sometimes we may be able to diagnose the fault on the telephone and give you a rough estimate, until we have looked at your laptop and confirmed the problem, we will not be able to quote accurately.
Please ensure your laptop is well packaged and don’t forget to enclose the power lead. This will enable us to proceed swiftly.
If you decide not to go ahead with the repair once we have estimated the cost; or we are unable to repair the laptop; or for economical reasons you decide not to proceed with the repair; we will charge a handling and inspection fee to return your laptop via insured courier. Carriage costs are not refundable.
The information given by the customer regarding the faults with the laptop is for our reference only and it is our own engineer’s report that will form the basis of the fault diagnosis.
Repair time scales.
Most of the laptop repairs we carry out do not take us very long; we aim to return laptops as quickly as possible to our customers. Providing we have parts in stock most machines are repaired within two working days. Where we need to order parts depending on the make and model of the laptop, parts usually are with us the next working day. In this case you will need to allow an extra day or two. Some repairs may take us longer because the parts are not available quickly, or that the machine has multiple faults. If this happens we will try and keep you advised, but please give us a call or email to check progress. Machines are returned by courier on a next day service.
What about Software?
We can reinstall your operating system and drivers for you. We would usually do this after a new hard drive has been fitted. We will not normally install other software, and we will require you to supply us with evidence that you hold an appropriate license. We can transfer data from your hard drive to CD’s or put it on a replacement drive. Please ask for a quotation.
What about Damage and Loss?
Claims for loss or damage of your laptop during shipment by Qual-IT are in accordance with our Courier’s insurance policy. The laptop must be transported in the appropriate laptop case and in tact to claim for damaged laptops.
What about Warranty?
We usually offer a one year warranty for parts unless otherwise specified and the warranty for parts is in conjunction with the manufacturer of the part(s) fitted. We can also use reconditioned parts to keep the costs down for you these usually come with a 30 day warranty. DC Power connector replacement carries a 3 month warranty. Screens usually 30 days unless otherwise specified. The warranty will be void if the fault is of a different or is unrelated to the original failure, or it has been modified or improperly handled. Laptops returned out of warranty will be charged at our advertised rates.
There is no warranty for some parts that are replaced. In these situations you will be advised.
Repair Terms and Conditions.
When you send your laptop to us for repair you are indicating that you have read, understood and agreed to these terms and conditions, so please read them!
If the cost of a repair or fix does not exceed our Minimum Charge you agree for us to go ahead with the repairs and that you will pay this charge.
