The Qual-IT Easy PBX is the result of 6 months of research and development at Q-Labs. We have taken the industries leading business telephone system Trixbox, an Asterisk based product, modified it for UK use and packaged it around a Windows install Wizard.

Who is it for?

Any company or individual that wants to save money and project a more professional image to their clients. Q-Labs research and development started on this project in 2006 to address our own need to ensure every call was attended to, wherever we happen to be.

You need absolutely no knowledge of Linux, networking or telephony to get this phone system up and running. Anyone can have a working Internet telephone system in half an hour. Guaranteed.

How does it work?

The system comes on a single DVD disk that can be loaded onto any Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows Server machine. Our intelligent wizard configures your computer to run this complex Linux based telephone system inside a "virtual" machine using a technology called "virtualisation" by VMWare inc.

Why is it different to other Trixbox distributions?

Q-Labs spent 6 months "fixing" and patching the problems with the official Trixbox distribution widely available on the Internet including but not limited to:

• Timing issues with the clock running fast
• "pops and clicks in the audio" - quote from the makers!
• Choppy playback with the digital receptionist (IVR)
• Push button DTMF tones not working correctly
• Customised configuration files
• Linux core system patches

We pre set all the Asterisk configuration files, SIP trunk and extensions for you!

In addition to all this the system is fully patched with UK voice prompts and then packaged into an easy install wizard! Your only job is to answer 10 simple questions and then plug in your telephones and setup your router (simple instructions provided).

What requirements do I need to meet?

• No hardware required
• Runs on any existing Windows XP, Vista or Windows Server computer
• You must have 5GB of free disk space and 512 MB of memory available
• Your router must support SIP (we recommend SIP routers during installation)

How does VoIP work?

It simply uses the broadband connection you already have to make calls instead of your normal telephone line, because of this you do not receive a bill for your calls from your telephone company! It doesn't matter whether you're calling a land line in Leeds or a mobile in Australia.
